Currently, you can connect any type of step that is part of a separate branch. It will be restricted if there's a possibility that the connection could cause an infinite loop for the end user (website visitor).

I was able to connect to an if/then branch but wasn't sure if it was working. Would love to review this again during 1x1 v4 time.
